The story takes place in a coal mining town in Wales where a young boy falls in love with ballet and instead of dedicating himself to football (soccer) he takes ballet lessons. The show is moving at many levels: the struggles of the miners against conditions and wages in the mill, the poverty of the miners, the struggle of a boy who is interested in dancing where his society dictates that young men should be involved in sports.
